VICTORIA (AUSTRALIA) – Con uno splendido assolo nella terza tappa con arrivo a Lake Mountain, Esteban Chaves si issa al comando della classifica generale dell’Herald Sun Tour. Il colombiano è uscito da un gruppetto che si era selezionato nel finale, ha attaccato ai piedi della salita di 20 chilometri finali e si è presentato tutto solo al traguardo. Secondo posto per l’australiano Alex Evans (Mobius-BridgeLane) a 42 secondi e terzo il portoghese Rubén Guerreiro (Trek-Segafredo) a 1’09” che ha preceduto Cameron Meyer (Mitchelton-Scott). Ora in classifica Chaves ha 32 secondi di vantaggio proprio sul compagno di team Meyer.
