FARO (PORTOGALLO) – L’olandese Fabio Jakobsen (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) conquista la quarta vittoria personale della stagione (la secondo qui in Portogallo). Oggi ha vinto nettamente lo sprint che ha deciso la terza tappa della Volta ao Algarve, la Almodovar – Faro di 211, 4 km.

Ha deciso di antipare e, nonostante sia partito molto lungo, è riuscito a contenere il vano tentativo di rimonta di Tim Merlier (Alepcin-Fenix), con Bryan Coquard (Cofidis) terzo. Ottava posizione per il giovane italiano Michele Gazzoli della Astana Qazaqstan.

Il francese David Gaudu (Groupama – FDJ) mantiene il primato in classifica.
